  • Este libro, coordinado por las profesoras Natalia Tielve y Ana María Fernández, recoge parcialmente los resultados del Proyecto de Generación de Conocimiento 3RMOMO «Recover, Rethink and Revalue the Modern Movement in Asturias. Architecture and Design (1939–1975)», financiado por la Agencia Estatal de Investigación. En él se incluyen dieciocho trabajos de investigación inéditos dedicados a abordar la impronta del Movimiento Moderno en los equipamientos urbanos, tanto en la arquitectura como en el diseño. Se aglutinan temas de estudio y metodologías diversas que atestiguan la amplitud de soluciones del racionalismo, tan interesado en la vivienda y el urbanismo como en crear poblaciones donde los hombres y las mujeres pudiesen sociabilizar, hacer deporte, sanar, cuidar, aprender, leer o pasear. Porque, como afirmase Le Corbusier, «la arquitectura es el punto de partida del que quiera llevar a la humanidad hacia un porvenir mejor».
