Es un análisis de lo que se puede llamar subdialecto o subdivisión del propio habla. La lengua de los maragatos, ceremoniosa a veces, sobria, con un dejo pronunciadamente arcaico, podría parecer una vulgarización enorme del castellano. Pero no, este dialecto nos ofrece diversas formas fonéticas para una misma palabra, no pocos arcaísmos y latinismos junto a voces corrientes del castellano.
