  • En el budismo zen el "koan" es una fórmula intencionalmente absurda que el maestro da al discípulo para que medite sobre ella hasta que se produzca una especie de estallido liberador de la mente. "La puerta sin puerta" es uno de los compendios de koan más célebres y más utilizados en la tradición zen. Su autor, Wu-men Huei-k´ai, vivió entre 1183 y 1260 en China y fue un importante maestro en la escuela Lin-tsi.
