Fue testimonio de primer orden de las rencillas y traiciones entre miembros del Partido Comunista, Partido Socialista y Anarquistas. Secretario de UGT en Catalunya, fue expulsado del partido en 1947. Su figura no ha sido reivindicada hasta el día de hoy. Fue sin duda uno de los jefes militares más importantes del Ejército Republicano. Aparecen en sus memorias grandes personajes como Pasionaria, Dimitriov o Carrillo.
