  • A través del estudio de 530 piezas cerámicas, procedentes de 49 excavaciones arqueológicas realizadas en Asturias y de una colección cerámica privada, presentamos la primera sistematización crono-tipológica de carácter arqueológico de las producciones de cerámica esmaltada y vidriada elaboradas en el alfar de Faro de Limanes (Asturias, España) desde el siglo XVI al XVIII. Faro de Limanes es el centro de producción cerámica más importante de Asturias durante la Edad Moderna. Las piezas aquí estudiadas serán usadas y demandadas en toda Asturias y en otros puntos del norte de la península ibérica. La metodología empleada ha clasificado la cerámica de Faro de Limanes en diferentes producciones, grupos funcionales, series, tipologías y subtipologías. Se ha creado una base de datos que recoge variables, fotografías y dibujos de cada una de las piezas estudiadas, y un catálogo que reúne las más representativas. The aim of this paper is to present, with an archaeological focus, and using the results of a study performed over 530 potteries from 49 archaeological excavations carried out in Asturias and a private pottery collection, the first chrono-typological systematization of the tin-glazed and lead-glazed pottery productions made in Faro de Limanes (Asturias, Spain), from the 16th to the 18th century. Faro de Limanes is the most important ceramic production centre in Asturias during the Early Modern Period. The potteries studied here will be used and demanded throughout Asturias and in other parts of the North of the Iberian Peninsula. For doing this study, we have used a methodology that starts from the classification of the ceramics according to their productions, function groups, series, typologies and subtypes, to create a new database which includes all the variables, photographs and drawings for each pottery piece, as well as a catalogue that presents the most representative examples altogether.
