  • Louise Bourgeois nació en París en 1911. Aprendió a tejer y a pintar en el taller de restauración de tapices que dirigía su madre. Pasó parte de su infancia cuidando de su madre enferma. El sentimiento de pérdida tras su muerte le sirvió de inspiración en su trabajo como artista. Estudió Arte y destacó por su talento como pintora y grabadora. Fernand Léger vio algo especial en su trabajo y la animó a explorar con objetos tridimensionales. Se trasladó a Nueva York, donde inició su carrera artística que duró más de sesenta años. Está considerada una de las escultoras más destacadas del mundo.
