  • Semu'el ha-Nagid es uno de los personajes judíos más polifacéticos y significativos que vivieron en al-Andalus. Su vida está estrechamente unida a tres ciudades andaluzas: Córdoba, Málaga y Sevilla. Su familia era oriunda de Córdoba, y allí nació hacia 993, en los últimos años del Califato. Allí recibió su magnífica formación árabe y hebrea. Tuvo que abandonar la ciudad hacia 1012, tras la llegada de las tropas beréberes que contribuyen al derrumbamiento de la capital califal.
