  • Juan Gil-Albert, de quien se cumple este año el centenario de su nacimiento, vio la luz por primera vez en Alcoy en 1904. Tras la Buera civil estuvo exiliado en México, de donde volvió a España en 1947. A su regreso escribió, en medio de dificultades personales y del silencio y la indiferencia general, algunos de los libros más personales y permanentes de la literatura española del momento. No fue hasta los años setenta cuando su figura comenzó a ser reconocida y valorada, y cuando buena parte de su obra, escrita mucho tiempo antes, despertó el interés de editores y lectores. Murió en Valencia en 1994.
