Erika Martínez nació en Jaén el 11 de diciembre de 1979. Vive desde niña en Granada. Es licenciada en Filología Hispánica y en Teoría de la Literatura por la Universidad de Granada, donde imparte clases en la actualidad. Se doctoró con una tesis sobre poesía hispanoamericana contemporánea. Ha realizado la edición y el prólogo de La voz en bandolera (Visor, 2007), antología de la poeta argentina Diana Bellessi.
