  • Este libro pretende rendir homenaje a una promoción de jóvenes que se reunieron en Santander en 1944 bajo el estandarte de la revista Proel. En aquel entonces, en la España de posguerra civil mientras Europa todavía sufría los tormentos de la Segunda Guerra Mundial, los proelistas (sin miras a bandos políticos) buscaban dar voz a la totalidad de las artes que expusiesen la angustia vital que parecía corresponderle esencialmente a su momento histórico. Con este fin se dedicaron a la publicación de cuantos escritos expresasen sinceramente la "realidad" del momento sin evadirse mediante una búsqueda elitista de la belleza tan de moda en otras revistas.
