  • Cristóbal Aguilar Barea (1939-2019) fue uno de los pintores más representativos del movimiento Estampa Popular en Sevilla. Dedicado a la enseñanza de su disciplina como profesor de enseñanza media, sobre todo en Ronda y Sevilla, prefirió realizar la mayor parte de su obra plástica alejado del mundo mercantilizado que rodea al arte. Desde el compromiso social amplió progresivamente su horizonte hacia un profundo estudio de la cultura andaluza. Pintor franciscano, para él pintar era como respirar. Sin abandonar nunca el compromiso histórico desarrolló una dilatada obra figurativa de hondo calado poético. En este libro se reconstruye su trayectoria personal, sus referentes plásticos y poéticos y se perfilan las claves que sustentan el peculiar realismo poético de sus pinturas
