La autora se trasladó a vivir allí durante algo más de un año alentada por su hermana, Cristina. De la experiencia de esos meses y ciertos sucesos posteriores, surgió este libro, cuyo título hace referencia al fulgor de la hierba iluminada y a la fuerza emotiva de un paisaje en un principio tan ajeno. Inmaculada Moreno ha publicado otros tres volúmenes de poesía: Son los ríos (1998) Poemas para sobrinos (2006) e Igual que lava oscura (2008).
