  • Ursula DOETSCH KRAUS, born in Cologne (Germany), holds a B.Phil. and M.Phil. in Romance Philology from the University of Navarra, Pamplona, and a graduate degree in English Philology from the University of the Basque Country, Vitoria. She entered the world of literary synæsthesia with her B.Phil. thesis, La sinestesia en el lenguaje poético de Federico García Lorca (1974, unpublished), and her M.Phil. thesis, La sinestesia en la poesía española desde la Edad Media hasta mediados del siglo XIX. Un enfoque semántico (Añejos Rilce/EUNSA, 1992), analyses literary synæsthesia in Spanish poetry prior to French symbolism. She has been working on this Defence of Literary Synæsthesia since 1996, with occasional interruptions, and uninterruptedly since 2013.
