  • Nico viaja con su madre por el desierto de Argelia, y prestan ayuda a un científico y una doctora sin medio de transporte. Ya en la ciudad, descubre que intentan robar el globo aerostático de su amigo Giovanni, y, trata de impedirlo, pero termina volando con ellos hasta un volcán dónde según la interpretación que han hecho;de una antigua leyenda, hay escondido un rubí. Allí se enfrentan con los guardianes de un templo construido bajo tierra y descubren que, en realidad, el tesoro que guardan no es un rubí, sino un meteorito que al caer formó el cráter. Para escapar usan sus armas y las detonaciones producen un derrumbamiento. Nico consigue escapar de la catástrofe y vuelve a casa.
