Algunos de sus títulos: Rara materia (1980), El invierno lúcido (1987), El orden de las olas (2000), Todas las mañanas (2010), Viento extranjero (2014), Y el mundo está ahí (2019). Su obra está reunida en Antología poética (1997), En la mesa desnuda (2008) y Eolo y otros poemas (2016). Recibió las siguientes distinciones: Premio Esteban Echeverría (2007), Rosa de Cobre de la Biblioteca Nacional (2014) y Gran Premio de Honor de la Sociedad Argentina de Escritores (2019). Como ensayista ha publicado Una conversación infinita (2016) y Continuidad de la poesía (2020). Es miembro de número de la Academia Argentina de Letras.
