De ellas emerge el espíritu impetuoso del artista, que recorre su biografía mientras da cuenta de sus ideas sobre la pintura, sus reflexiones desde el psicoanálisis o su pasión por el arte o la literatura. Un volumen que da fe de su carácter a ratos sombrío, a ratos eufórico —siempre magnético—y que es muestra de una amistad, en palabras de Sánchez Durá, «tan radical como amorosa, exigente en extremo y espléndida».
