  • «Aspaldian ezagutu nuen Assata Shakur Habanan, Autobiografia bat lehenengoz argitaratu eta urte batzuetara. Ez zen prentsa amerikanoan marrazten zen munstroa, baizik Ameriketako Estatu Batuetan nagusi zen arrazismoaren aurka beste asko bezala altxatu zen emakume normal bat. Protesta politikoaren aurka Estatuak erabiltzen zuen errepresio gogorragatik, militantzia armatua aukeratu behar izan zuena, nahiz eta jakin konfrontazio armatuaren bidez ez zutela irabazteko ezelango aukerarik». Joseba Sarrionandia «Assata Shakur guztioi mintzo zaigu, eta, bereziki, espetxe-sare global gero eta handiagoan bahituta zaudetenei. Optimismoak gure hiztegi politikoan atzera egin duen honetan, opari ordainezinak ematen dizkigu: inspirazioa eta itxaropena». Angela Davis
