  • La revista mexicana Frente a frente (1934-1938) fue órgano de expresión de la Liga de Escritores y Artistas Revoluciona¬rios (LEAR). La agrupación rehabilitó la temperatura de aso¬ciaciones semejantes surgidas desde principios de los veinte: el Sindicato de Trabajadores Técnicos, Pintores y Escultores, el grupo 30-30, la Lucha Intelectual Proletaria, etcétera. La Liga es indisociable del Partido Comunista de México y de su revista El Machete. Si esta difunde las actividades y el pensa¬miento del partido, la revista de la LEAR se orienta al arte y la literatura. Frente a frente opera como expresión no ya de una asociación de intelectuales militantes y compañeros de viaje, sino también de movimientos internacionales dirigidos por Moscú y administrados por la Unión Internacional de Es¬critores y Artistas Revolucionarios.
