  • En 1917, Yeats (1865-1939) compró una fortaleza normanda a pocos kilómetros de Galway. La convirtió en su residencia de verano e hizo de ella un símbolo, un monumento del alma a su propio esplendor al que le dedicó La torre (1928), el primer libro de poemas que escribió tras recibir el Premio Nobel en 1923.
